Hitler Bomb Plot - 1944

On 20 July 1944, an attempt was made to assassinate Adolf Hitler by several groups within the German Resistance. It was very nearly successful. This film shows good footage of the bombed headquarters and Hitler greeting Mussolini with his injured arm.

On 13th Feb 1945, the bombing of Dresden began.

“Hyde Park On Hudson” is released in UK cinemas today. Starring Bill Murray as Franklin Roosevelt, the film dramatizes the meeting of FDR and King George VI in 1939. British Pathé has footage of the real events. Watch them here.
